Clockwork Princess cover revealed!

Just wanted to share the beautiful cover of Clockwork Princess.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

I need more stars for my ratings on Goodreads! 5 stars is not enough. Best book all year...well next years...lol. If you read Shatter Me and loved it, you will not be disappointed with UNRAVEL ME!

This book was AMAZING, breath taking, beautiful, just hands down greatness. Tahereh Mafi has outdone herself and I can’t believe I now have to wait until 2014 to read book three. This is a must read. I just have no more words to describe how I feel about this book.

Annadyomene by Tiffany Leahy

I had the pleasure of meeting young sweet Tiffany Leahy in Seattle last October for the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour and was very interested in reading her book that she wrote at age twelve. What first caught my eye was the beautiful cover. I know we were always told not to judge a book by its cover, but I can’t help it. The book cover is always what draws me in first.

Any ways, I didn’t buy the book at the book fair, however when I got back home to Sacramento I kept thinking about that one book that got away…lol. So I contacted Tiffany and asked to buy a copy from her. I was quite surprised at how well she wrote the story and being twelve when she wrote it. I found it very entertaining and look forward to reading a sequel. This is a must read if you like YA fantasy.

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead

I was so worried about writing this review and P***ing off all my blogger & Goodreads friends, but hey what can I say, I was not impressed by this book. Everyone seemed to love and adore it, but for me it just dragged and the storyline seamed to go nowhere until around page 300 of a book that only has 419 pages, and then it just ends out of nowhere. And Sydney is a bore just like that awful boyfriend she had for about a minute. I really think Brayden's character was a waste of time, maybe by cutting his crap out of the book it could have pushed the storyline a little sooner than page 300.

Even though it wasn’t the greatest book ever, it was still interesting enough for me to keep reading it. I really do like Adrian, Eddie, Angeline & Jill. I like where the love triangle is going with Eddie, Jill & Angeline. All three deserve someone but who? Adrian really really deserves his happy ending, but with Sydney !!!!? I’m not so sure, we will just have to wait and see.

Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades #3) by E.L. James

PhotobucketI’m so sad that this is the last in the series....or is it? The very last line on the last page has me questioning whether E.L. James is going to give us more and I sure hope she does!

In this book we get so much, a wedding for one, for two I won’t tell you...lol. I loved the journey to understanding one another, especially Christian and his kinking fuckery. Christian had to face his fears in this book and move on from them. And Ana is a wonderful, caring, loving wife through it all.

A definite must read if your into erotica books.

Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades #2) by E.L. James

PhotobucketWOW, I likie very much....lol

This was much better than the first book in this series. The love story between Ana and Christian continues and its an emotional roller coaster. This book is so much more than the BDSM I couldn’t grasp in the first book, it’s about understanding one another and falling in love. The story was very faced paced, keeping me on the edge of my seat, heart wrenching and addicting. What I really love about this book is Ana really sets the pace for the relationship and its Christian that has to adapt. Oh and you get a rare glimpse of submissive Christian....LUVS IT!

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades #1) by E.L. James

I’m kind of stuck on how I want to review this book. For weeks I keep hearing " You have to read Fifty Shades of Grey, Best book all year".....blah, blah, blah.

I liked the book, on Goodreads I gave it a **** rating. The characters were great. The girl (Anastasia Steele) is a sweet, down to earth VIRGIN....yes virgin. The male lead (Christian Grey) is handsome and rich but has some major mommy issues.

Christian likes to keep his woman or subs in line, Christian is into the BDSM lifestyle and poor virgin Ana has no idea what she is getting herself into.

I had a bit of a hard time getting past his BDSM ways. Now I’m not a prude and what girl doesn’t like a guy to take control, maybe pull my hair or slam me up against a wall, but the rough spanking scenes that leaves Ana in tears also almost left me in tears too! He liked causing Ana pain way too much, to me it was border woman abuser. Christian does have his reasons as to why he is the way he is and they are all Fifty Shades of fucked up....authors words not mine....lol. So that’s pretty much my hesitation in giving the book ***** stars on Goodreads.

I will have to say the author, E.L. James, tells a story really well. She kept me entertained, the characters were also well written and I will defiantly read the next book.

Last Breath (The Morganville Vampires #11) by Rachel Caine

Well what can I say, I’m really getting bored with this series. In the beginning it was one of my favorite series now I can’t wait till it’s over. This book had an ok plot, but there were things that take place in this book that seemed unnecessary to me. I can’t say what those things were without totally giving away the whole book.

I will continue to read this series to the end only because I feel so invested and I have to know how it ends. However I will not be buying any more books in this series, only Library books for me.

Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood #10) by J.R. Ward

Photobucket At first I was so mad at Ward for making this book Tohrment’s story. Like the rest of us Brotherhood fans I wanted Blay and Qhuinn’s story. However Lover Reborn made me laughed, cry, and at times really really mad, all these things make this a great book in my eyes. I went through so many emotions with each character, especially Tohrment. And just like the other books the sex was really HOT! True to the other books in the series it was more than just Tohrments story, it was John & Xhex’s, The band Of Bastards and Lassiter’s (Love Him). OMG! Now we have to wait a whole year for the next book. I can’t wait to read about Blay & Qhuinn! 

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

Sweet Evil, Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
OMG! This is going to drive me crazy. I have been staring at my computer for the last two days trying to write a review for “Sweet Evil” that will do it it justice. I write something, then erase it, write something and erase it again. So all I can say is I loved it, but also felt a bit guilty at times because the book was right on the edge of becoming a very adult book and we are reading about a girl that just turned 16! However I think that is very clever on the writers part since the book is all about sins.

Sweet Evil is about a sweet southern 16 year old girl named Anna. Anna is a good girl, always follows the rules and never lies. Anna also has some very special skills/powers/senses and when she turns 16 she gets another gift. Although Anna knows she is special, she doesn’t know what she exactly is until she meets a boy like her.

This is a MUST READ, I will be buying the book even thought I have read an ARC and will be pushing all my friends to reads this.

The Thirteenth Sacrifice: A Witch Hunt Novel by Debbie Viguié

A Murder mystery with a paranormal twist….EXCELLENT!

Fifth teen years has passed since that awful night Samantha Ryan’s High Priestess tried to resurrect a demon and instead her whole coven ended up dead. Samantha has haunting  nightmares of her past and that horrific night and has worked really hard to not use her magic and instead become a Christian.

Her adopted parents are also good friends with the cop who helped her the night her coven was slaughtered and is now her captain. Yes, Samantha become a cop. He understands what he is asking her could destroy the person she has become, but when woman start showing up dead with ritual marks on them, he knows Samantha is the only one who can stop this mess. Will Samantha keep her Christianity or will she become the witch she was born to be?

I really enjoyed this book. The story picked up right away, and was a very easy read. It was also a nice change of pace for me. I kind of stick to Paranormal romance and this was a great murder mystery with a paranormal twist with witches, wiccans, ghosts and haunted houses. Loved it!

Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi

If you liked The Hunger Games & The X-Men you are going to love Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. In my opion, it’s amazing that this is her first book. She writes as if she has been doing this her whole life. From the first line to the last I was trapped inside her book and unwilling to let go of this truly great story.

All Juliette really wants is to be touched, held and loved, but unfortunately for the other person her touch comes with terrible consequences.
Locked in a cell , forgotten, Juliette is surprised to learn she is getting a roommate. Are they crazy? Don’t they know what that will do to her… to her roommate? Can she control herself, or will she give in? Boy is she in trouble and she knows it the moment she meets him….her roommate.

Blood Rights (House of Comarré #1) by Kristen Painter

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Chrysabelle’s is beautiful and bears the lacy gold filigree of the comarre, however she bears more than most. Born and raised to feed the vampire nobility, Chrysabelle blood rights have given her the life of luxury, however when her patron is murdered and it looks as if she is the murderer she is forced to run and hide in the mortal world. But don’t fear for fair, beautiful, elegant Chrysabelle, she was also born and raised to be a lethal vampire hunter, but don’t tell the vampires that.

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

PhotobucketCreepy living dead things live in the murky underground in the small town of Gentry where children are taken and sacrificed to keep the town flourishing... not that the towns people will admit it.

This was a great book, and the fact that its the autors first book is amazing.

Mackie loves his family and friends, but its becoming more difficult to live near those that are close to him because he belongs below, Mackie is a replacement. Left in the crib of the family's true son. Mackie begins to question the towns secrets and when a friends sister is taken and the replacement left in her crib has died, he is drawn to his home underground.

Auralia's Colors: The Red Strand (The Auralia Thread #1)

PhotobucketBrilliantly different! From the moment I picked up this enchanting fantasy I was sucked in to the beautifully woven thread of "Auralia’s Colors."

WOW, amazing, can I say that again….AMAZING! I had never heard of this little treasure of a series or author until I won on First Reads, “The Ale Boy’s Feast,“ the fourth book to this series. So I immediately went to my local library to check out the first three so I could catch up before I read the fourth, and I was surprised at how quickly I was drawn to these characters and their strange land.

Auralia, found as an infant by thieves (known as the Gathers) in a mysterious oversized foot print on the water's edge, grows up to be a strong minded heroine. She is wild, mysterious and very loyal to the Gatherers and her home in the forest. I think that is what drew me in so deep in the book..... was the simplicity in it. It was poetic and a work of art. Yes, it was slow, there was no strong plot, and it was not packed with action, but it was relaxing and peaceful, full of vivid fantasy, magical creatures and people you could relate to.

I can’t wait to read the next book, “Cyndere’s Midnight: The Blue Strand”.
